Dell Precision 390 Quad Core Can´t Render

hi,i have a dell precision 390, intel 2 quad cpu 2,40mhz, with 2 Gb ram, but when i put on a scene some 3d trees, it give an error of memory.

OUT OF MEMORY.but the file have only 80mb.

it´s normal? do i have to put more memory? what can i do?

i use Mentalray, but only FG.

i guess it's due to your render settings.. try sticking to low values and see if maybe it has to do with you bsp tree in the diagnostics...you should also use a memory limit in the settings which is half-size of your physical ram..this is what comes to my mind on the fly..hope it helps.

ok,i found tutors about BSP,but the question is that i have also a G5 dual 2.5 with 6 Gb ram.

it´s normal render the same scene in G5 without problems, and on dell, that is a 2quad core give memory problems.

Are u using standard windows xp 32bit?

Maybe it's a problem due to windows memory management that can handle only 1.5gb per process.

Try using the 3gb switch or move to xp64.
