Parametro "animation Offset" Nello Scatter

Mi chiedevo se qualcuno saprebbe spiegarmi con un esempio pratico a cosa serve il parametro su citato presente nello SCATTER compound object.

ho provato in vari modi, sia animando il SOURCE object sia il DISTRIBUTION object, ma non rilevando assolutamente alcuna variazione...

Grazie a chiunque voglia chiarirmi questo parametro perchè magari lo ha già usato

"Animation Offset—Lets you specify the number of frames by which each source object duplicate's animation is offset from the previous duplicate. You can use this feature to produce wave-type animation. At the default setting of 0, all duplicates move identically. "
