THE SACRED HUT

Recommended Posts

The Sacred Hut has been thought as a path.
A path that begins crossing a hanging fabric forest, that, brushing face and body, invites people to an interior research.Once inside, a versatile open space for all kinds of worship welcomes you. This placeoffers everyone the opportunity to question his own soul through a spiritual path towards the divine.

“..man wants nothing but shade form the sun and shelter from storms..”
Essai surl’architecture,Marc-Antoine Laugier
Laugier wanted that architecture must return to its origins, the primitive hut.

This concept allowed us to design a simple and sustainable architecture, integrated with the local culture and that carefully affects the landscape.
The Sacred Hut has been thought as a path.

Peace, light and lightness bring you to the heart. It is an introspective space, accessible by a narrow passage and characterized by only one eye, towards the sky, that connects the human and the divine. Above we see the light, the sky, the hope ... and below we touch the bare ground.

The Sacred Hutallows the maximum flexibility of use thanks to a system of pulleys fixed tothe secondary beams that supports some wooden and local fabric panels. In fact, manually moving this panels, infinite spatial configurations can be create in order to accommodate any kind of sacred ritual and, in case of necessity, to convert the space in a sanitary center.
The heart, in the raining months, opens itself, facilitating the access to the rainwater container placed under the central eye. The sound of the rain on the iron sheetscover and the suggestive waterfall effect transform these moments in moments of joy and celebration.
The heart still stays open during important religious days, when under the central eye, the griot singing and playing the Kora passes the knowledge to future generations or a simple fire can be lighted to attract around itself all the worshippers.
Light, earth, water and fire are the natural elements that generates the spaces and the forms of the Sacred Hut.
