Released Lumion 5.3, tool for viewing AEC. Lumion is an essential tool for all those who want to display their design projects producing high-quality video, faster and easier.

New features (release note):

MOVIE MODE

  • Hyperlight: It is now possible to render Hyperlight images in Print & Poster resolution via the Single tab.
  • New Eye Level function in Edit Clip mode: This function allows you to set the camera position to eye level height above the Lumion terrain (or above imported models that are marked as a terrain). You need to set the eye level height once per camera keyframe.
  • New Copy clip and Paste clip function: This function allows you to duplicate a clip in its entirety, i.e. both camera keyframes and Movie effects.
  • (F8): Hold down this key to temporarily display shadows from spotlights.
  • Move and Advanced Move effects: Pressing (N) while moving objects will now ensure that the objects only move along the X axis.
  • Move and Advanced Move effects: Pressing (M) while moving objects will now ensure that the objects only move along the Z axis.
  • Mass Move effect: Paths can be selected with next/previous buttons.

PHOTO MODE

  • Hyperlight: It is now possible to render Hyperlight images in Print & Poster resolution.
  • New Save Photo Set button: This button allows you to save all Photo slots in a given Photo Set.
  • Photo slots now have individual effect stacks.
  • (F8): Hold down this key to temporarily display shadows from spotlights.

BUILD MODE

  • It is now possible to mark an imported model as a terrain. This will make the imported model behave more like the native Lumion terrain: It is possible to paint directly on imported terrains without experiencing an offset between the brush and the surface. Moving multiple objects and ALT-copying multiple models will also follow the contours of the imported model (Context Menu -> Click on model icon -> Extra -> Mark as Landscape -> On).
  • New Objects mode: Import mode has now been integrated in the new Objects mode. Selecting and deselecting objects is done by clicking on their circular object icons. Objects can also be selected by holding down the left mouse button and dragging a rectangle around the relevant object icons. You can deselect all selected objects by holding down (CTRL) and clicking anywhere on the screen. Some buttons have been colour-coded to make it obvious that they belong to a certain group. A new object category filter has also been introduced in Move mode, so that you can select multiple objects from different object categories. This has the added benefit of allowing you to replace, say, a row of chairs from the Indoor category with a row of plants from the Nature category via the Replace with Library Selection function in the Context Menu.
  • (F8): Hold down this key to temporarily show shadows from spotlights.
  • Pressing (N) while moving objects will now ensure that the objects only move along the X axis.
  • Pressing (M) while moving objects will now ensure that the objects only move along the Z axis.

MATERIAL EDITOR

  • Normal Map generator: This feature automatically generates a Normal Map when you add a Color Map to a Standard material. It is possible to flip the direction of the Normal Map by clicking on the Flip Normal Map direction button. You can also create a Normal Map if the imported model already has a texture from outside Lumion.
  • The Glass material now has an Emissiveness slider.

IMPORT & EXPORT

  • Support for FBX files from Revit LT has been improved.
  • SKP files from SketchUp 2015 are now supported.
  • Mirrored surfaces from SketchUp are now imported correctly.
  • Importing is now faster and uses less memory.
  • Imported material colours are now automatically assigned to Standard materials if no texture is present. Increase the Colorization slider value to see the colour if required.
